We are very excited to announce that Westknits aka Stephen West will be coming to Brighton on the Saturday 12th December. Stephen will be at YAK in the morning teaching a top down shawl workshop and will join us later in the evening for a book signing and trunk show. Keep reading to find out how to win yourself a spot at his workshop!
Stephen’s Top Down Workshop will take place on 12th Decmeber 10:30 – 1:30. In this 3 hour workshop he will use his popular shawl designs to talk about shape, construction, and drape. Students will knit a small triangular swatch while topics such as cast ons, increases, bind offs, and blocking are discussed. You will also learn some of Stephen’s favourite tips and tricks!
Westknits designs are renowned around the world for their wonderful colours and textures. Whether you’ve never knitted a shawl before or have knitted a hundred you will be sure to learn something new from this Westknits experience! Check the class page to see what you’ll need to bring with you.
Later the same day, 12th December 5:30 – 7:30 Stephen will also be joining us for a book signing and trunk show. He will be in the shop showing off some of his wonderful samples, sharing stories and hanging out.
Come to one or both! Why not make a day of it? Brighton is a great city to explore, there are sights, shops and cafés abound. Between the class and the trunk show why not get lost in the vintage markets, go for a blustery walk along the sea front or get started on your Christmas shopping.
