Last week The Uncommon Thread announced that they will be discontinuing several of their yarns including Sumptuous DK. We will be very sad to see it go but once it has gone it has gone so this is a last chance call for you to get your hands on this beautiful yarn. Made up of 40% merino wool, 40% alpaca and 20% silk no yarn gets much softer than this. We stock a small selection of colourways all of which have The Uncommon Thread’s trademark depth of colour – like no other dyer we know.
I’ve rounded up a few patterns which I think would be wonderful knitted up in this yarn.
Lantern Lights by Joji Locatelli would be a perfect match. The all over lace pattern looks delicate and sophisticated and would take just one skein. I always think that accessories are the best chance to go bright with colours, the colour pictured is Lust.
This cardigan is an oldie but a goodie. Tea Leaves by Madeline Tosh is hugely popular on Ravelry and you can see why. It is a simple and extremely wearable cardigan. Knitted up in Sumptuous DK you would never want to take it off!
And lastly, a Textured Shawl Recipe. This is not a fully fledged pattern but a recipe to make up shawl that will suit your needs. Knit it as small or as big as you like, and this one is free!
I hope this will give you some of inspiration and ideas. Any questions about the yarn please just give me a shout in the comments or via the contact form. Click here to not miss out.
