Marlisle with Anna Maltz plus Trunk show and Penguin Party!

*NEW CLASS ADDED!*

We were amazed by the speed Anna’s Marlisle class sold out. As more people added their names to the waiting list we thought it would be a good idea to try and fit another class in. So on the 26th November we have scheduled a second class, 2:30 – 5:30. It will be the same great workshop in which Anna will be teaching you all about the Marlisle technique she created.

Marlisle is a mash up of ‘marl’ – a technique consisting in using two contrasting strands of yarns to obtain variations in colour- and the isle from ‘Fair Isle’ – a generic term often used to describe any kind of stranded colourwork regardless of its geographical origin. If colourful, textured knitwear is your thing, good chances are you’re going to fall in love with this interesting technique. During the three hour class, students will be asked to create a circular swatch in which they’ll include one of the Marlisle designs provided. The aim of the exercise is to reach a good understanding of how Marlisle works as well as reinforcing your ability to knit in the round and create seamless garment.

We’re anticipating the last few places to go quickly so do book soon to avoid disappointment!

In the week running up to the 26th November we will also have a trunk show with all of the samples from Anna’s book Penguin: a Knit Collection

The samples will be here from the 19th – 26th November. It’s always inspiring to be able to see and hold samples in your hands! Plus, on the 26th of November 6pm – 8pm to bid the samples farewell we will be hosting a Penguin party! Come and try the samples on, meet Anna and get advice about yarns to use and she might even sign your book! This event is completely free and open to all. We will have penguin themed refreshments and you are to come dress as an emperor penguin as well if you fancy it.

We can’t wait to meet you at one of the classes, the trunk show and/or the Penguin Party!

Until Next Time… Happy Knitting!
