Our Pattern Round Up of October releases. This month as we finally hit a cold snap we have got lots of patterns to share with you for inspirational winter knitting (and crochet!).

Bendigo hat, jessica gore, dk, pattern round up, october 2017

Bendigo Hat by Jessica Gore looks to be the prefect winter hat, relatively simple with some fun texture and pattern this hat uses a single skein of DK weight yarn so is great for stash diving, or if you simply need some more yarn to cheer the winter blues, try John Arbon Textiles Knit by Numbers DK, Hedgehog Fibres Merino DK or Baa Ram Ewe Dovestone DK, giving you a choice of speckles, solids or saturated.

Wanderlust by Sandrine C is a simple and beautiful jersey. Knit in the round from the top down, it has some lovely lacy detail at the hem. Here at YAK, Wendy has got gauge and is busy making her Wanderlust by holding two strands of lace weight Vale by Brooklyn Tweed together, check out the beautiful colour range here.

Moon Walk by Dani Sunshine is an adorable kids pullover, with a super cosy collar. Knit from the top down in the round. Knit it using Malabrigo Rios for squishy softness for your little one. Or if you love it for yourself, Dani has made a grown up version called Quiet Walk

Another hat here, Alger by the Woolfolk Design Team has a magnificent fold up brim with ribbing and cable detail. Try it in Cyrano by De Rerum Natura or Croft by West Yorkshire Spinners.

Another spectacular design by Caitlin Hunter, aka Boyland Knitworks, Whitehorse, knit with a beautiful lacy yolk from the top down, is continued knit inside out to create reverse st st for the body. Try it in a drapy, silky, heavy yarn like West Yorkshire Spinners Wensleydale Gems to get the same look as Caitlins.

Calla lily, ririko, pattern round up, october 2017

Finally, we have a beautiful and elegant A-line pullover, Calla Lily by Ririko. With Lily shaped sleeve detail, lacy flower pattesn down the side seams and clever top down construction. This is such a beautiful design we would knit it in Wool & the Gang Sheepaca (in store), or Wensleydale Gems to give it the drape it deserves.

Until next time… Happy knitting
