John Arbon Exmoor Sock is a beautiful range inspired by the changing colours of the Exmoor landscape. It is a 4 ply yarn that is both soft and durable – just what you want in a pair of hand knit socks!

Exmoor sock is made from a blend of  the durable wool from Exmoor Blueface sheep, Devon Zwartbles wool, which is naturally dark brown with flecks, Falklands Corriedale for added softness and stitch definition, and a little nylon for durability.

Exmoor Sock comes in 50g skeins and would work wonderfully for stripes and colourwork.

John Arbon Textiles is a British yarn producer. Their mill was founded in 2001 and from the beginning they have always had a focus on using traditional methods.

A return to old-style manufacturing means they use local fibre whenever possible, and convert it into high quality yarns here in the UK. Using this sustainable method means the yarn doesn’t rack up air miles in order to utilise cheaper labour. Their mill is one of a handful  of worsted small scale worsted spinning mills in the UK.
