Life in the Long Grass -Hinterland

This unique base by Life in the Long Grass combines bluefaced Leicester wool with gotland wool making a stunningly soft and drapey yarn. Due to the gotland content Hinterland has a natural grey base which makes every colour in the range subtly muted and soft. Both Bluefaced Leicester sheep and Gotland sheep are long wool breeds meaning their fleece produces hard wearing yarns with a lot of drape.

Season after season Caroline adds new colours to her range so her palette is a constant evolution. Her latest collection is all about earthy tones and neutrals which still bear the trademark variegations of hand-dyed yarns. A perfect compromise for those who love the look of speckles but feel more comfortable wearing slightly subdued colours.

Weight: 4 ply (fingering)

Fibre: 75 % bluefaced Leicester wool, 25 % gotland wool – non-superwash

Skein: 100 g = 350 m (382 yds)

Spin: worsted spun

Fibre origin: UK

Processed: milled in the UK & hand dyed in Cork, Ireland

Care: hand wash

Please note hand dyed colours can vary slightly within and between dye lots. This is what makes each skein uniquely beautiful. Please be sure to order enough yarn to complete your project to reduce the chance of differences between your skeins. To ensure random colour distribution, work from two skeins at once, alternating every few rows. At YAK we try to ensure that our photos represent colours as accurately as possible, but please be aware that these can vary depending on your computer monitor settings.
