Retrosaria – Brusca
Brusca by Retrosaria is a truly rustic wool yarn, which is breed and flock specific. It consists of 50% saloia and 50% white merino and black merino wool. saloia the native sheep breed of the Lisbon and Setúbal region and has been well documented since the 19th century as it’s wool was one of the finest available in the country. All of the wool used in Brusca has been sourced from free range sheep and is cruelty-free as mulesing is not practiced in Portugal.
Like all Retrosaria yarns Brusca has not been bleached, which, along with the combination of wools adds to the slightly mottled colourway effect, resulting in a truly traditional looking yarn.
With a rustic, sticky handle this yarn would lend itself extremely well to colourwork projects, and is an excellent choice for yoke sweaters and stranded knit accessories.
With a selection of 15 colours available, ranging from deep earthy tones, soft neutrals and bright pops of colour, each shade has been specifically chosen to perfectly blend and contrast with the rest of the collection.
