Tunisian Crochet

Using a long hook Tunisian Crochet is perhaps a technique which begins to bridge the gap between crochet and knitting. Tunisian crochet produces a dense fabric making it a great technique for projects requiring strength or a more solid finish. That said, there are lacy Tunisian stitches too!

In this workshop, crochet designer Eleonora Tully from Coastal Crochet will teach you all you need to know to get started with Tunisian Crochet and how to get the best results with this fabulous technique. From Tunisian Simple Stitch to Tunisian Knit Stitch and other stitches too. How to increase and decrease and work interesting colour changes.

This workshop is suitable for intermediate crocheters. The class is 3 hours long. Materials are not included but will be available to purchase at YAK on the day and you will receive a 10% discount.

A Tunisian crochet hook (which is longer than traditional crochet hooks) will be needed. Some are available with a cable at the end and will be needed to work longer rows. It’s recommended to go up a hook size to what you would normally use with any yarn…sometimes even two hook sizes.

Eleonora is a crochet designer and writes a crochet blog ‘Coastal Crochet’ www.coastalcrochet.com She has had many of her designs published in crochet magazines including ‘Simply Crochet’ and ‘Crochet Now’.
