Next Steps in Knitting
You can knit, you can purl, but what is next? This improvers course will help you take your knitting to the next level. You will be given the choice between two patterns designed by Dani Sunshine.
Choose from a beautiful hat with a lace and cable design feature. Or an equally lovely shawl pattern with the same cable and lace pattern. Both patterns are full of skills and techniques that, once mastered, will give you confidence to start any new project!

What will I learn?
This improvers knitting class will take you through all the text book techniques to get moving on your knitting journey, You will be able to choose between two patterns that have been specially designed for this class. Skills you will learn include,
– choosing the right materials
– increasing
– decreasing
– cables
– lace
– knitting in the round (hat only)
– pattern reading
– reading charts
– fixing mistakes
– how to substitute yarn
– washing and blocking tips
How long is the class?
The learn to knit class is taught over 2 sessions. Each session is 3 hours long so the total teaching time is 6 hours.
Who is the class for?
This course is designed for people with some knitting experience at all. It is an adult only class. Participants must be able to cast on, knit, purl and rib with confidence, this class is not for beginner knitters.

Are materials included?
Materials are not included but will be available to purchase on the day at a 10% discount.

Dani Sunshine is a local knitwear designer and knitting teacher with a passion for pretty yarn and interesting construction. She specialises in designing classic garment styles with modern techniques. You’ll find her anywhere she can take small children & her knitting.

Cancellation Policy
A full refund can be given if a cancellation is made up to 10 days prior to the event, after this time a refund can only be given if the spot can be filled by another student. This includes in the event of illness, personal circumstances or any other situation which is out of YAK’s control. These rules are also applicable to course transferals – you must cancel up to 10 days prior to the event in order to be moved onto another course.
We reserve the right to cancel a class in unusual circumstances. We try to avoid this wherever possible, but sometimes it cannot be avoided. In this situation, of course, a full refund will be given.
