Recycled Fibre

If you like De Rerum Natura’s Robinson you’ll love it’s little sister – Candide. Candide is made up of the same fibre composition as Robinson, but is a 4ply weight, perfect for transitional knitwear pieces!

This yarn is made from the wool of Arles merinos raised in organic farming in Provence and from cotton recycled on the spot by the spinning mill thanks to a patented technique that preserves the length of the fibres.

The cotton content gives this yarn softness and a fresh feel. The small cotton flakes gives it a unique texture and creates a subtle mottled look, ranging in intensity from colour to colour.

De Rerum Natura champions sustainability and transparency. This is reflected through every aspect of their business practices.

Based in France they specialise in European merino yarn. 50% of the merino wool comes from certified organic flocks raised by transhumance in the French Alps.

Transhumance is a type of pastoralism  in which flocks are moved from one grazing ground to another flowing a seasonal cycle. It is still commonly practiced in the mountainous regions of France. The rest of their fleece is sources from small traditional farms chosen for their respect for animal welfare.

Candide is an ideal yarn for delicate mid-season projects that will benefit from the lightness of wool and the coolness of cotton.
