The Perfect Summer Blend
Rauma Garn Pelini is a mix of 50% cotton and 50% linen. This plant-based yarn makes it well suited to summer makes as plant-based yarns don’t hold heat in the same way animal fibres do.
Linen softens with time and washes, meaning anything made from this yarn will only become better with time.
This fibre blend has no stretch to it, making it ideal for crocheted accessories such as hats and bags.
Pelini is worsted spun. This method of spinning tends to use longer fibres which are spun up tightly. Worsted spinning creates very soft, dense yarn, that has excellent drape and crisp stitch definition.
Rauma Yarn is a Nowegian family run brand, founded in 1927. It began when Erling Digernes took over the operation of a small woollen factory in Veblungsnes in Rauma. Today, it is the third generation of Erling who run Rauma Garn. The operation has expanded, but traces of the original factory still remain.
Care:
Please note – although the label states that Pelini can be washed in the mahcine at 60°, we recommend taking extra caution when machine washing your knits and going no higher than 40° with this yarn.
