In the light of the updated government guidelines for COVID-19 over the last few days we would like to share with you the new measures we’ve taken in order to operate YAK as safely and smoothly as possible.
While it is still safe to do so we will remain open for our usual hours. The loss of trade incurred by this crisis will prove to be challenging for many small businesses like ours and while safety is of course our top priority we are committed to staying open as long as possible. To do this safely we will carry on with regularly sanitising surfaces and tools, phones, door handles, till areas, keyboards, and card machines. As well as, of course, lots of hand washing. We will be reviewing our opening hours as more advice is given so this is subject to change but we will keep our website updated with any changes.
The online shop will still be running as usual. We are fully stocked up with gorgeous yarns and we will keep restocking so please do keep ordering. Orders will be sent daily from Tuesday to Friday and we will still offer local pick up.
We are now offering a FREE LOCAL DELIVERY option, delivered by bike, for people living in the BN1, BN2 and BN3 area. When using this option we would be very grateful if you could please leave a note on your order with any details that might be helpful, including hours you will be in and/or a safe place to leave the package.
We have also added more postage options so you have more choice and because no one should be left without wool to ease their mind we are also offering FREE 2ND CLASS DELIVERY for all orders over £25.
To limit interactions in between staff and customers we do recommend that you shop online whenever possible. Remember that we are always available over the phone or by email to answer your questions, for advice and to facilitate your purchase. Upon request we can send you photos of yarn under natural light as well as photos of colour combinations of your choice. We are even looking into setting up a virtual shopping platform so you could enjoy a full shopping experience from the comfort of your home. We will let you know when this is available.
If/when the time will come to close our doors to the public we have hope that we will still be allowed to keep the online shop and therefore the business going.
We are putting Knit Night on hold starting from this Thursday 19th March. This will remain so until it is judged safe for small gatherings to take place again. Same for classes, which will be postponed and rescheduled at a later date.
In the meantime keep safe, wash your hands regularly and take comfort in your knitting. Thank you for your continued support.
Love from the whole YAK team,
Kate, Eugenie & Charlee X
