Behold Tarma Aran, a gorgeous new hand-dyed yarn by Fyberspates! Made of 60% highland wool and 40% alpaca, this aran weight is soft and springy. It doesn’t have as much drape as you’d expect from an alpaca base. On the contrary its twist and high wool content gives it a lot bounce and structure. A great option for textured projects which require a good stitch definition. Its sophisticated colour range includes bright semi-solids and lightly variegated.
Pattern Suggestions
‘A bottom-up colorwork cowl, knit in traditional Fair Isle technique. I-Cord Cast-On and Bind-Off strengthen the edges, and also create a clean, sophisticated look.’
This pattern would work beautifully with Tarma Aran semi-solid colourways.
Into the Woods Scarf & Snood by Melody HoffmanA fun and stylish of combination of textures and colourwork! This pattern includes instructions for a scarf and for a cowl. Both versions are knitted in the round and we love the simple contrast of the textured motif. |
