“Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it’s much more serious than that.” Bill Shankly
It may already be over for the England team, but the World Cup certainly isn’t over yet. Three matches a day may seem like a lot, but getting to hang out with the lad which allows 90 minutes of uninterrupted knitting time is a great luxury, especially as football doesn’t need much concentration to watch, if something exciting happens they show multiple replays! Everyone is happy. He’s even been inspired to have a go himself, apparently it’s a scarf for Japan.
I do wish though that I had had the foresight to start some official world cup knitting. All over the knitty web there are some great fab socks being made in country colours. What better way to support your team.
These two by Riotous Assembly are my favourites but if you look up #worldcupsocks on Twitter and you’ll find loads of great ones. Are you knitting for your favourite team?
