Sandnes-garn-tykk-line

At the beginning of this year it was looking like we weren’t going to be able to restock Sandnes Garn Tykk Line due to supply issues. We were very sad as it was so popular last Summer – amongst both customers and staff, so we were over the moon when we could in fact order it in again!

We wanted to get you all excited for it’s return too, so we’ve put together a list of newly released crochet patterns that we think would work wonderfully with Sandnes Garn Tykk Line.

Plus we’ve got 6 new colours in the range – check them out here!

Raglan V Crop by James Cummins

We absolutely love the Raglan V Crop. The designer chose such great colours for the sample – it reminds us of ice cream! This sweater is crocheted from the top down, which if you haven’t done before – is such a quick and easy way to crochet garments. It means that there’s no separate pieces to seam together at the end, and that you can try it on as you go for a perfect fit.

We love the stripey version, and think it would be very easy to customise – whether you want thin or thick stripes, or just one plain colour.

Flowers Dream Throw by Happy Heartsy

The Flowers Dream Throw is such a fun summer blanket. If you’ve not tried colourwork in crochet before, this would be a great first project for that. The motifs are big shapes which are easier than crocheting little fiddly motifs.

Another very customisable pattern. Make all of the flowers in one colour for a toned-down look, or make each one in a different colour for a bold, playful effect.

Lazy Days Tote by Salena Baca

The Lazy Days Tote is a fun every-day bag. The rows of mesh are a nice addition to the other wise simple pattern.

Crochet bags are so versatile and can be dressed up and down, as well as being an easy project – good for beginners. The strap would be pretty easy to elongate for a cross-body bag too.

Countryside by Days of Herbs

The Countryside hat, though designed in raffia (paper) yarn, would be lovely in Tykk Line! It would male it a little more floppy, however it would still hold it’s shape well.

We love the simplicity of this design, yet the one row of the taller stitches adds a subtle bit of extra texture that really elevates it. The perfect every-day summer hat!

Tulip Stitch Flower Garden Vest by Beth Povey

The Tulip Stitch Flower Garden Vest is the ultimate summery vest! This looks lovely over a t-shirt, and can also be worn backwards by itself as a little cami – as pictured below. This would work up in no time too.

Floe Top by Abigail Ellazar

The Floe Top is a beautiful summer design! The shoulder to shoulder opening gives it an off-the-shoulder look, without it actually being off-the-shoulder and having to yank it up very 5 minutes.

The Floe Top is joined as you go. This construction is a quick and efficient way of joining granny squares – and means less sewing in at the end (everybody’s least favourite bit!). The possibilities that granny squares provide for colour combinations is endless, so the final look of this top could vary greatly depending on the amount of colours used.

We hope you enjoyed this pattern round up, and that you’re as excited for the return of Sandnes Garn Tykk Line as we are?!

Until next time.. happy knitting!
