Mitu is a luxurious blend of 50% wool 50% alpaca. The high alpaca content makes this wool soft and comfortable to wear next to the skin.

Full of twist and bounce it would also work nicely with textured patterns. The cherry on top is that it is machine washable on a gentle wool cycle so it’s great for kids’ garments too.

Mitu is worsted spun. This method of spinning tends to use longer fibres which are spun up tightly. Worsted spinning creates very soft, dense yarn, that has excellent drape and crisp stitch definition.

Rauma Yarn is a Nowegian family run brand, founded in 1927. It began when Erling Digernes took over the operation of a small woollen factory in Veblungsnes in Rauma. Today, it is the third generation of Erling who run Rauma Garn. The operation has expanded, but traces of the original factory still remain.

Care:

Please note – although the label states that Mitu can be machine washed at 40°, we recommend taking extra caution when machine washing your knits and going no higher than 30° with this yarn.
