Chunky update | yak

A quick post to give a shout out to the new Malabrigo Chunky colours we just got in last week. They are all now available online. Along with some of their renowned variegated colours there are some awesome semi-solids, a perfect bright pop.

I sat with the “Water Green” colour above next to me at the till when it first came in. Just a bit of company while I pondered if I could wear such a colour. I decided I could and spurred on by the urge to knit something quick I embarked on the Purl Soho pattern Bandana Cowl. As anticipated this chunky wool knitted up at a satisfying rate of knots and I finished it in exactly 24 hours.

This cowl took 1.5 skeins and I knit it on 6.00mm, 60cm ChiaoGoo circulars. The pattern suggests 40cm but I switched to 60cm almost straight away as my tension gets a bit tight when the stitches are bunched up.   If you’re feeling weighed down by your winter sweater projects (literally in some cases) then I would highly recommend grabbing a couple of skeins of this to lighten the feeling of a never ending project.
