Unwind brighton | yak

This July something very exciting is happening in Brighton.

The season for sunshine, fish and chips and dips in the slightly too cold sea will be upon us and along with it, this year for the first time, Brighton’s very own yarn festival!  It would be an understatement to say that I am excited.  Just look at the poster, doesn’t it just scream fun in the sun?!  Every time I see it I get the urge to eat ice-cream.

Unwind is a weekend festival which will include a bustling market place as well as classes and talks with some of the world’s most inspiring teachers.  If that’s not enough there will be loads of other smaller events going on over the weekend as well including competitions, meet ups and a full blown seaside shindig on the Saturday night which is being hosted by the lovely ladies from Pom Pom Quarterly.  This is not something you want to miss!

Above is where the marketplace is being held, the historical Brighton Dome Corn Exchange.  YAK will have its very own stall – hence all the excitement – and I can’t wait to be part of the market stall gang.  The whole place is going to be jam packed with lots of other lovely independent suppliers including some of my personal favourites The Uncommon Thread, Eden Cottage Yarns and John Arbon Textiles.  All in all it’s going to be a knitter’s paradise with a huge selection of yarns, knitting tools, patterns, buttons and much more.

I will be chatting about the extra special delights I will have on offer in another post, but let me assure you they’re good – like, really good.  In the mean time quick, go get a ticket, sign up for a class or five.  All the info can be found at the Unwind Brighton website here.    Hopefully I will get to meet some of you there.
